Teacher Dinner Wed Oct 29

Phew! We did it! Teacher Dinner was a great success!

Each year during Parent Teacher Conferences, the PTO provides dinner for the teachers on the long day of conference week. Our fall conferences are coming right up on us and we are trying to set up a Potato bar for the teachers for Wednesday October 29th.

We're looking for volunteers to provide the food. A few people signed up at the PTO meeting already, but we need a lot more help to make this dinner happen.

Book Fair Coming up!!!

The book fair is coming to McDermoth. It will be in the library from October 27th to the 31st. The book fair is great because it generates money for books to put in our school library. At least 40% of what we sell comes back to us. I would love some help setting up the book fair, helping to run it(sitting in the library when students and parents come in to buy books), and taking the book fair down. My plan is to set up the book fair after school on October 24th. It will be an early day so around noon. The book fair hours will be Monday Oct 27th 9am-5pm, Tuesday 9-12, Wednesday 9-7:30, Thursday 9-5, and Friday 9-12. The times may adjust a little depending on how many people sign up to help. We will take down the book fair Friday after school. Teacher Appreciation

Hello McDermoth parents,

This is Beckee. I am chairing the Teacher appreciation this year. As we have done in years past, we are planning to have treats for the staff twice a month to show our appreciation. We rely on volunteers to provide the treats. At back to school night we had a few times taken, but we need more volunteers! There are just under 50 staff members this year, so if you want to get together with a friend to cover one of the times needed, that would be great!

Carnival is coming up (and we need volunteers)!

Hello!

Our year at McDermoth is off to a great start already thanks to all the great volunteers that have stepped up to help out so much already! I am sure you have seen the reminders coming home about our first big event this year, our CARNIVAL!! It is just around the corner! I (Beckee) just went over to the school and saw that we have had quite a few volunteers, but we are still in need of a lot more! So, if you can help with the carnival, please stop by the school office and sign up!

Also, we are still in need of junk food and glassware!

Thank you so much Mrs. Fleming for chairing this event! 

In addition to the Carnival, there are still many more ways you can help! We have a lot of committees that can ALL use more volunteers. A couple of our committees still even need chairs! Check out all the committees below and let us know if you are willing to help with any of them (if you signed up at Back to School Night, we already have you down!):
